Hash & Token Information

A quick guide to the supported hash formats, generated tokens, and when to use each one.

This page is information only. Hashes are one-way and cannot be decoded back into the original password. Tokens are random secrets and should be treated like passwords.

Password Hashes

Bcrypt: A password hashing function designed to be slow and resistant to brute-force attacks. It uses a salt and work factor.

WordPress: A WordPress-style portable password hash format used by older WordPress password systems.
